Our Spent Mushroom Compost is a rich mixture that is easy to work with and gives great results. Perfect for no dig gardens!
This compost is a mix of well rotted organic farmyard manure (horse and chicken muck with straw); it goes by the name "mushroom compost" as, before it gets to us for bagging or blending, it serves a term growing mushrooms (you won't get loads of mushrooms in your borders).
- Improves Soil Structure - enhances aeration and drainage in clay soils while improving water retention in sandy soils.
- Rich in Organic Matter - It replenishes organic content, promoting healthier root development and microbial activity.
- Adds Essential Nutrients - Contains nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, and magnesium, which are all vital for plant growth.
- Natural pH Buffer - Helps neutralise acidic soils, creating a more balanced growing environment.
- Eco-Friendly Recycling - Repurposing spent compost reduces waste from mushroom farms and supports sustainable agriculture.
We can supply you with 3 sizes of bulk bag:
- Jumbo Bulk Bag which contains approx 1000ltrs (one cubic metre)
- Standard Bulk Bag contains about 750ltrs (same as most builders merchants)
- Half Bulk Bag contains approx 500ltrs
Small Handy Bags are approximately 25ltrs and the perfect option if you want a small quantity or if you have access issues and will need to carry through your house or over any walls etc.
